Envision Beauty will make a donation to sponsor the drilling of a clean water well in Rwanda. The project is expected to be completed within 18 months and will serve a community that would otherwise lack access to safe drinking water.

The contribution is the culmination of its “Water Week” fundraiser, during which Envision Beauty pledged the proceeds from online sales of its popular skincare product, The Solution. Raising at least $10,000 would enable the company to sponsor drilling of the well.

“Our community jumped at this opportunity to make a positive impact in the face of a global health crisis,” a spokesperson for Envision Beauty said. “It was inspiring to watch them rise to this challenge.”

Waterborne illness remains a leading cause of mortality worldwide, with almost 1 billion people affected. In Rwanda, almost a third of the country lacks access to safe water and even more live without improved sanitation.

The well is sponsored through charity:water, a non-profit organization that has brought clean and safe drinking water to over 3.5 million people in developing nations. 100% of all public donations it receives go to the field to fund clean water projects.
